I am thinking about using LED in various spots in my interior but have a question about aiming them:

in the vents are you supposed to aim the LED straight out? or kinda down?

how do you mount the LED itself?

I heard that you could use sand paper and scratch the head of the LED to give more of a glow and less direct "pin point" light, is this true?

TIA

I taped my vent LED"s to the top of the vent and aimed them down. I originally had them taped low and aimed up/out and they actually lit up the ENTIRE inside of my truck. I didn't want the green beaming out my back windshield (Mr. Policeman?) My passengers didn't like staring directly @ the LED's either. When aimed low, they still light the entire vent and the beam really never passes into the backseat.

thanks... did you get the LEDs from phil? I am kinda lost by your description... if you had them at the top and aimed them down... how would the light go straight back? I think you mean that you had them pointing straight back... then switched to pointing them down or lower instead of parallel to the floor, right? jesus... I am confused... am I making any sense?

Yeah, these are Phil's LED's. "THE BEST" LED's.

I'll clear that up.

CURRENTLY - Taped deep inside (3" back)/on roof of vent, aimed down. Lights the vent up + armrest. I taped it far back to compensate for the low 30 degree spread.

Its a truck, so my vents are high on the dash. I don't know where yours are located on your vehicle. You will probably have to see what works best for you.

Check out the video in my Oznium gallery.
