first off hi everyone! sorry if this is a stupid question thats been asked already, I didnt come across anything while I was lookin on here though.
.. now.. Most ive done to my car is put two neon bars under my dash, two neon bars under my seats, changed my headlights and debaged my car.. Is this going to be overly hard to do? Should I try to talk one of the guys into doing this for me, haha not like I dont get enough shyt for being a chick as it is but aye.. whats a lil of them bein a-holes if I get my stuff done haha I'll be asking more stupid random questions as I get into the changing of my turn signals, reverse lights, fog lights, washer lights, interior trunk lights, yada yade =)
Sorry for the overly long rambling post but.. not to sure on technical terms for any of this... |

first of all, welcome!
for your switches, they make LED toggle switches in a variety of colors. i think you can usually get these at automotive stores and walmart and places like that for about $3 each (there was also a guy selling them for like $14 each claiming they were special...don't fall for that...his company was called firebug toggles or something) alternatively you can do what I did and get normal toggle switches from radioshack or whatever, then get some low brightness LEDs (NOT like the ones on oznium...they would blind you. I used red LEDs from allelectronics.com) and just wire the LEDs to the switch (along with a resistor so they don't fry). then just mount the LED right next to the switch. wheel well lights are tougher...most people just buy an extra transformer and four 12" neon tubes, but that is kinda expensive. I was thinking of maybe using a few LEDs in each wheel well. BUT rumor has it that PlasmaGlow is working on wheel well tubes for it's Fusion kit (thats the color changing kit you mentioned). I have the Fusion kit so if this is true I might get them. It may or may not be cheaper than the 4 extra tubes+transformer...but you will be able to change colors. but you said you jsut wanted white in your wheel wells...so nevermind as for whether or not it will be hard...not if you can follow our directions well and learn fast. theres tons of people willing to help you both here, and over at the streetglow.com and icustrn.com forums. Unless you have a really unique and original idea chances are it's already been discussed numerous times (not necesesarily here but definitely over at streetglow), so make use of the search engine. if you're good at figureing stuff out then theres no need to get some guy to do it for you. i strongly believe that you should do as much work yourself as possible on your own car. its much more rewarding. |

As far as installing things on my own car, Yeah I try to as much as I can, just kinda sucks not knowing what im doing, and something electrical, yeah dont wanna fry out my car Im pretty sure that on my last car the guy who installed my underkit did it wrong since A) hopped a curb and busted a light. and B) one of my brackets came off and sliced my back brake line, haha yeah that was cool driving Goph, that sucks! hope ya dont need to get one, I had a 95 white grand prix, loved that car. Oh..hahaha..another stupid question, I drive a lil itty car now, So do I have to oder different sized tubes? (last car with the pink under it,ill have to find a picture, was a skylark, not a very small car, now I have an accent..much much smaller) |

i have that problem too. i went to audio comp tonight. it was messed 3 catogories 10's 12's and 15's i hada compete against guys with 4 10's it was so not fair. but i pulled up just as i got darkt o get tested i flicked the switch and like evryone was saying stuff liek look at that car. early that day i changed my turn singls to rewd bulbs and i flicked em on ppl thought they were strobes.
but anyway on to the gurls questions. plasma glow or PG as its referd to also has soft sticks. which r ment to bend. so u could put them up in ur wheel well. and it wouldnt; b to complocated at all. and abotu hoeping a curb and the tube smashing well yeah the whole weight of the car comeing down on cement. aand about mounting it. a lot of people use zipties instead. they hold better. and r safer. for the switch panel i did the same thing as chessy used mini toggles and led's under the switches. my switch panel also cost my about 70 bucks american or 115 canadian. u shouldnt; need a different size kit. the side tubes r only 48 inchs long i think. most if nto all cars have a wheel base larger then that. i seen a ford festiva witha kit on it so size should not matter. if u wnated a suggestion for the undercar kit i'd get the purple one first. a lot of ppl have been haveing troubles with the color changeing kit. so get the purple plasmaglow kit from here then once all the bugs r worked out the color changeing kit get that one to. well i think i rambled on enuff welcome to the board. hope u dun break a nother kit. |
