Please can someone just give my "wiring diagram" a quick once over to see if it would be ok.
Basically I am looking at installing these LED clusters as footwell lights: I would think the LEDs are wired in series within the cluster itself so will I have to wire in parallel like below. I was going to run a length of wire from the source along the centre column and back and then wire to the final LED. I will then splice into the wire for LEDs 1,2,3. :
Thanks all |

That will work just fine
It will be a nice subtle effect. If you want something bright, consider cathodes. |

I like that idea. I wouldn't know where to look for the wire that dims my lights when my door closes.

It is built into my Ford Probe and there are basically 2 bulbs either side of the front footwell. I am splicing into the feed just behind the glovebox and then making some additional rear footwell lights by attaching 2 clusters to the underside of the seats. I have got neons in at the moment and they have blown or something. Rumours have it that the fading effect of the 12v supply may have damaged the transformer. Plus this install is a bit more tricky with neons as the wiring length from the transformer makes it difficult to locate it and the tubes whereas these just need a length of wire to splice into the main feed. Cheers all. |
