so. i spend almost 12k on a nice bonneville. less than two weeks ago. perfect. no scratches, paint is great.

last weekend, i washed her all up nice, went to a movie w/ the wifey, came back, stayed at her place awhile. next day, theres catprints allllll over my car. grumble grumble, no big deal ill just wash it next weekend.

well now its the weekend again, and i washed it.
icon_evil.gif
i would never raise my voice in anger or make threats to the wifey.
but i WILL NOT under any circumstances let my car be ruined by a goddamned 8 year old, spoiled **** siamese cat. it makes me absolutely sick how much her family spoils their cats, now its just gone too **** far. the ******* had a real fun time too, sliding down my hood and fender, and down my trunklid off the rear quarter. this cat has a notorious habit of sleeping on their other cars - which until now was no big deal - an 88 accord, 93 topaz and 90 ranger..who cares right? well now they have an 02 accord. so hopefully theyre gonna look out for themselves and punish that god forsaken devil cat.

i didnt raise my voice to the gf but i just told her how it was. i made her cry. i dont feel bad about it yet.

so. i hope the **** a body shop can wetsand/buff/rewax the car and it will look good again. its not something i care to do myself. i want it to look just as good as it did when i drove away when i bought it. i believe the scratches are just in the clear coat, since it looks like the cat just had sandy paws and was having fun. no claws.

anyone know what it would run to have this lil mess cleaned up?

GODDAMNED **** CAT!

you can prevent it buying a dog... give it a long leash and attach it to the car when you go over..... that will keep the damn cat away! icon_twisted.gif

her family sohould pay for the damages if their cat did it on their property. Maybe their homeowners insurance will cover it? but anyways a small dish of antifreeze left under your car will make quick work of that damn cat icon_twisted.gif

or try not to kill and hit it with a paintball gun or sneak up on it and blow a bull horn at it, or get an alarm system on the car and if he doesn;t set it off then you can when you find him on the car.

I hear lighting off a brick of firecrackers near a car will scare the bejesus outta them....

But I know nothing about that icon_twisted.gif

(ps-- i hate cats...nasty filthy animals....dogs are way better)

Everytime I go over my friend's house, his psycho neighbor has like 20 cats, and the little bastards try to warm themselves on my engine block or my (recently painted) hood. When the little bastards aren't on or in very close proximity to my car, I pelt the bastards with stones....usually miss, but at least they get the hint.

Put tobasco hot sauce all over your car so that cat will get it on its paws and lick it. and put a dog in the car with the window down so it can jump out.

solutions:

1. kill cat - NO. if i want to keep #1 my life, and #2 my future wife.
2. she offered to pay for damages. if i take her up on it i feel like shes taking my man card. no i will not swallow my pride.
3. cats in or i leave

im callin #3 as a winner. shes knows goddamned well im enraged about it, and we got to her house tonight - and i said basically - cats in or i leave. they wouldnt come in, so i left. this WILL NOT happen again.

the cats, yes, plural, of course have nails. but whomever vandalized my car didnt use them.

nobody knows if a good wetsanding/buff will fix it? im worried as hell... i know its hard to say without lookin... but ??

just blast off a couple paintballs at it, dont hit the cat, cats have good eyesight and awesome reflxes so theyll know your shotting at them even if they dont get it. just buzz a couple over its head, like maybe 5 rounds in half a second, let him know you mean buisness. this has to be done with the cat on top of the car of course, just like any other relatively smart animal, after the first couple times you try to paint it it will stay off your car for fear of being shot at. you might want to try missing it the first time, then if you catch it again make sure one finds its mark, that will make the cat know your not **** around

That is what i do. They haven't been going in the garage that much lately. icon_lol.gif

I think a good wet sanding and buff would get them out. Maybe even just a good buffing.

You say paintballs, I sell these things called airsoft guns, some of these guns can be hoped up to incredible speeds. This was if you paintball the cat and the neighbors know youve got a paintball gun, ur ****. These dont leave a mark and ive got one that looks identical to the real thing and shoot 450 f.p.s. Check us out @ www.jungletoy.com.

This is the current gun i shoot now in game all though I am working on an AR15....

Justin, dont pay to have it fixed. I'll do it for you free of charge budd. Just let me know when icon_twisted.gif

Sounds like they aren't too deep.

How you tell, is if you can feel the scratch with your finger when your run your hand over them. Try and see if you can run a fingernail across them, and if it catches you might be in for some trouble...

the cat gets on the hood because it is warm and they curl up on them....My neighbors cat used to do it all the time to my 02 whenever it was outside for a little while, I had a few scratches but buffed them out myself luckily.....Paintball gun to the ass now keeps it away from my yard...just like the crows that used to frequent my house, shoot a couple with a bb gun and the flock now diverts around my property icon_twisted.gif

It could be worse though....I park my car at my gf's house and people drive by and throw rocks and bottles at it icon_cry.gif ......That stopped after I confronted the kid down the street though and informed him his customized civic was going to be short lived if it happened again, and of course it has now stopped but it cost me 250 bucks to pull the dents out and buff out the paint icon_rolleyes.gif

as for the scratches it depends on the shop you go to.....They will have to pull the body panel and sand it then repaint and clearcoat depending on how deep the scratches are....That could run you around 400 bucks depending on the shop and how slow they work icon_rolleyes.gif

claws will go right through them

the best solution if you must go to their house is to cover your car with a large blanket and then put tape stickey side up onto the blanket. Cats dont like the sticky feeling on their feet and body so it would keep them off. If that doesn't work, a shotgun will.

if you remember, I think he said the cat is declawed, so the car cover will work.
