To get away with not using a resistor in line. You have to use more led's then what your car will put out voltage wise? CORRECT? or how do you get away with out using a resistor or should i just not connect them in series? it would be nice to hook up in series but if i can't then i wont. im having trouble with them burning out. and i believe too much voltage is the problem for that? also i know all the specs like max voltage and min voltage for my leds? should i try and hook up more leds in series and equal the max voltage or min ? i guess i will have to see if five in line work instead of 4? Well get back to me asap thanks again

just save yourself the trouble and use resistors for each LED...it makes it alot easier theres no point in blowing LEDs and having to buy new ones when you could have gooten resistors and not blown any

to figure out how many you need to not have a resistor, divide the peak voltage of your car (while the car is ON...probably about 12-14 volts) by the typical voltage needed for each LED. For example if your car's voltage is 12 volts and the voltage of each LED is 4 volts then 12/4=3...so you would need 3 LEDs wired in SERIES.

hmm ive got like 8 sets of 4 in each series circuit and havent had any problems with em blowing out.....u sure its not the bars hanging from the led's themselves touching because that will do it

also if i do use a resistor it doesn't matter what way i put the resistor? i will check out if they are touching but i dont believe so.
thanks for all the help |
