so anyways in my new console, im going to have a top that will open...and for this, i will need a switch just like on a fridge, when its open the light will be on and when its closed, its off. first off, anyone know where to get a switch like this and/or what is it called? the poll is for which i should use to light the thing, a 4in white cold cathode kit OR some white leds...

for the switch, im thinking something like this BUT these are switched grounds...and i dont know if that will work...[/url]

simple, get one from a glovebox off of some car that has one. i know my sonoma has one you should be able to find a s10 or sonoma at a junkyard with one and the jy will give it to you for cheap or free

Look in the How To someone was just talking about these. The switch they put on car doors would work well I believe. I would mount LEDs on the lid so they shine down into the compartment. Cool Idea. icon_cool.gif

First off new clickable link http://www.autotechs.com/cat57.htm

Second get a N/C switch from an electronics site.

thanks for the site man but i have a question...is that for the ground? cause i would assume when its open, that would connect the ground and complete the circuit right?
