i'll tell you right now...your best bet is to memorize how many times you need to push the button to get to each color and setting because when its dark you'll have no idea what your on unless you get out and look

I remember most of the colors and settings, but if I forget I just open the window and look down. That's the easiest way.

what you guys can do is make your own indicator LED and mount it on the dash.
get a tri-colored red/green/blue LED and wire it up to an extra extension cable (with resistors of course). Phil doesn't carry them on his website but he *might* be able to order one for you, or you can get them from a website like superbrightleds.com i haven't completely wired mine up yet but I tested it and it works well. it even fades in and out and stuff. i was going to install it today but i relized my car is at the dealer getting its 10,000 mile check up |

I don't get why they give you a seperate on/off switch instead of intergrating it with the control. After you turn it on you need to grab the control to change the color and setting anyway. I like your idea Cheesy about the indicator LED.

dude i thought that exact same thing.....i was like wtf??...they take the time to put all the button and LEDs in there why cant they just put a damn on/off button with it...its not hard to run it to a switch but if there needs to be a control box then they might as well be an on/off switch built into it |

Personally I like the remote switch thing. My favorite color is blue, so most of the time I can just leave the controller in the glove compartment and switch it on and off with the master switch. Although it would be nice if it did have a switch directly on the controller, I could still use my idea, i would just have to leave the switch on the controller on all the time.
I installed that indicator LED I was talking about yesterday and it works great, althought it's kinda bright. I might end up sanding it down even more. Any ideas on how to make it dimmer? (besides adding more resistors...I'm lazy) Maybe clear nail polish or something? |

actually i might move it to behind the switch panel instead of in the switch panel. my panel is made of plexiglass, so it might look cool to have the LED just illuminate the whole panel.

I like the idea of a remote switch as well but PG should have used switches on the controler rather then buttons. That way if you want a certain color or setting, you could leave it set for what you want and it would start up on it when you turn the kit on.
I didn't like how hot the switch they included got, so I wired my kit in with one of those round Pilot switches that I installed in my dome light console. |
