OK so I have like......5 neons in my car...3 under dash, red and 2 in the trunk...blue...i also have 2 blue cathodes in my trunk and all you can see is a really sick glow coming from the trunk...is this legal in delaware to drive with them on?! I know underglow is...but im not that rich...cant afford that yet..

if its blue its prob illegal. but if the tubes arent visible from outside you may be ok
just ask a cop and see what they say. |

If they are that bright and are mounted like that they probably cause some glare, blindspots making them illegal. Even if they are legal it's a safety issue.

old topic but i have talked to a few Delaware State Troopers about neons and such..
Strobes are obviously a ticket, no matter where they are, if you have them on while driving, your screwed. As for neon lights, the troopers i talked to said that they let most things go. Some cops don't like the blue and red, so they might pull you over and warn you, but nothing more than that on the first offense. two of them said that they ticket for having the led exhaust tips, because it lessens the view of the vehicle behind you. this is the same with other neon/led/lighting that may be irritating to the eye. So pretty much, you can use your neons, as long as you dont blind people, and as long as you dont resemble a cop or could be in any way mistaken for a cop. I wouldn't risk it no matter what tho. |
