I own a Ford F150 and am wanting to make up some LED tubes one for each side under the dash and one to go behind the seat. all in Yellow to match the truck icon_rolleyes.gif and maybe later , door handles, vents, dome lights, maplights, fenderwells, underhood.

How many LED's should i put in each tube?
How many can i put in a series with out a resitor?
What LED should i use?
What size of LED should i use?
Where can i get a wiring diagram to make them?
Where is the best place to buy LED's and resistors?
Where can you buy the tubes?

I am somewhat electronic literate but it has been some time ago.

Thanks
Boss54

One more thing how do i post a picture everytime i post a message? icon_cool.gif

welcome your luky i'm in a better mode now so i will help you out and you have a ford i like fords.

How many LED's should i put in each tube? more the better
How many can i put in a series with out a resitor? so the volts the leds take is just more then what your truck put out
What LED should i use? the ones that Phil sell on here
What size of LED should i use? they are 5mm
Where can i get a wiring diagram to make them? do a search on here and you should find something
Where is the best place to buy LED's and resistors? Phil
Where can you buy the tubes? I have no idea

if you want to put a pic up there are bottons up just under the subject line on the 2nd to last one it say Img you hit that on then you put the url of the pic after it then hit it again. like this
you must have the pic hosted on a web site like imagestation or cardomain.

i hope this help if not some others will help you out

Is that your truck?^^^ If it is, then your truck kicks ass. I love the BOSS lightnings. Sick! I am not one to throw out the compliments very often either. So consider yourself lucky! icon_biggrin.gif

I know, my bad. When I said lightning I actually meant F-150. Sorry. I am a huge auto buff. Especially when it comes to FORD's. Typed faster than I was thinking! icon_lol.gif

I would say, go to local hardware store to get somewhat of a good tube, i dunno what they sell around you, then make like a 50" length, or soemthing custom length and heat the tube into a wave effect, that would look great! and add TONES of leds, one by each other.......it will cost lots right now but with phil gets his new LEDS u will be in business icon_smile.gif hope that gave you some good ideas

Sweet truck man... I like the matching jet ski or whatever it is too icon_smile.gif

I can get yellow LEDs but they are not really yellow... more of a puke amber color so I don't like to sell them to anyone... I think you'd end up buying yellow LEDs from 20 different places before you found a true yellow...

Where do you want to have the yellow glow? Cathodes might be a better answer.

Welcome to the forum too icon_smile.gif
