v4? icon_neutral.gif

Anyways, your comparing apples to oranges, sure there cars but ones a luxery car with some balls, an eclipse is just a cracker jack box with a high output engine in it.

6-7K? Pift for 5K you should be running in the 11's or 10's.

how 5k? i crunched the numbers and including average labor cost + parts + engine..it'd be 8-9 grand for a 350 swap. I think a 240hp engine is enough power to make it fly anyways icon_cool.gif

hm. i would say to end this sensless arguing over trivial 3hp buy it, dyno before and after, post results so everyone can stfu (gomgomgom) and you'll be happy either way. icon_confused.gif in my mind, squeezing horsepower out of an engine will always be a waste of time and money, but pouring horsepower into one is priceless. (or around 3000). icon_biggrin.gif
good luck either way.

labor cost...... i'm sure most people know someone with or at a shop and you do all the other stuff besides the swap.

I concur with this number....you cant just swap out an engine...You have to redo almost the entire car when you upgrade your engine size....brakes, tranny, gears, rear end, suspension, computer, pluse other misc items not including the engine....Expect to spend 5-6 Grand just on parts plus the additional cost of labor icon_cool.gif

In the end its worth it though....I can either sell my car that I already have a lot of money into, or simply replace the engine when it goes out in a couple of years....IM redoing the engine with all the trimmings....at the end of the ordeal, I will have a brand new car, but it will also be a brand new Cobra icon_cool.gif

Try to do as much of the labor yourself, best way to learn stuff about your motor. icon_cool.gif

i want it to run...right now im lookin at a 3.4 swap out of a camaro
it should give me a decent hp/tq increase and is the simplest swap.
looking at maybe 3-4k total + stronger engine to work with

Do not swap a 3.4 into your car. Their is virtually no aftermarket for the 3.4, go with the 3.8, a lot better engine and you could probably get it for cheaper since it is a more common engine.

i though camaros had a decent aftermarket..and they are crate engines so finding them wont be hard
if i go with a 3.8 itll be alot longer of a wait i think

heh you could swap in a 3.8 out of a grand national!
ive seen those engines built up to well over 400hp easily
and seen a grand national drag car with around700 hp.
