I'm thinking of getting some LED turn signals, and I can choose from Red or Amber. Would I be okay with either of these colors?

Well provided the red is in the front you might get hell for it. Most to all states require front turn signals to be amber. Red in rear is ok.

You could use them for shows, if you wanted to replace your turn signals each time. But driving with them on the road, nope. That'd be like a cop flashing his lights everytime you make a turn.

I wouldn't get a very obvious blue turn signal color, but you can always shoot for "hyperwhite" - basically white with a blue tint.
I have APC hyperwhite bulbs (normal bulbs) as my corners and turn signals, and I have yet to be messed with by a Wisconsin cop. At least not for those You probably won't be able to find LEDs in that certain color, but you can get white LED signals, which look pretty good - I've seen them on a couple friends' rides. |

I've seen people with BLUE signals and it looks sweet. How about drillling a hole for an extra set of bulbs. Use the amber for daily driving, and flip a switch and use the blue for times when cops are not around.

I'd love to see some wiring novices here be able to do that. It would be a miracle. |

it wouldnt be too hard just a simple on/on switch and you connect the wire from the turn switch to the middle and one side would be the stock signals and one side would be the blue ones. just make sure to tap the wire after the flasher unit so they blink.
oh and i had green signals in my old grand am for like 6 months and no cops bothered me. then all of a sudden i get pulled over and told that they were cracking down illegal lights and that i had to make em amber again. |

You gotta watch white LED turn signals too sometimes.....i had them once and the SAME cop pulled me over 3 times cuz he said they gave off a bluish tint.....finally the 3rd time he said u still got those bulbs in? i said yes and im not takin them out...i then pulled the bulb out of the socket and showed him on the casing of the bulb where it said WHITE plain as day,not blue....he said some more crap and i got tired of hearing it and i stuck 2 ambers in right in front of him then drove off lol....just depends on the area you live in and how the officers are i guess

i'd get pulled over in a second for those ^^
cops here say anything goes, as long as its not red or blue where it does not belong. we dont have front tags in delaware.. i was pulled over in atlantic city for not having front tags, bet that cop felt pretty damn stupid. |

i doubt i will get pulled over for not having a front tag, hell, my car dosent even have a mount for one!! (well, not on the car at least, its in my closet lol) but i dont care, pull me over for it. so far no dice on the red blinkers, which is odd because the even glow red when the head lights are on...im sure ill get in trouble soon.
