My idea is this: make a sort of "fake floor" about an inch, inch and a half above the real floor in my car for the two front seats out of plexi-glass and then put neon lights underneath it. (I think that makes sense...)

My question is this: would the plexi-glass get scratched from people stepping on it? If so, what could i use that would still be see-through that wouldn't get scratched or break?

Thanks for any help, and lemme know if I can clarify on anything

i have seen that done before, i compete at car shows and i saw one car that had that with his amps mounted in the floor, then a fake plexi floor above it, but it was in the back seat, cause moisture from the front seat passengers would probably be a hassle.
it can be done, but you can't get anything that is scratch resistant, anything you get will eventually get scratches on it.

That's actually what I think my next project is going to be, unfortunately I just funded a 1600 dollar radar detector and 250 performance computer, so it's going to be a while. Mine will be in the back from the hump that the front seats bolt to all the way back to the back seats with plexi between the end of the front seat and the front of the back with probally an inch between the plexi and the end, but I know it's going to take a lot of planning, but I'm going to to plexi all the way, I don't know of anything else better, and most everything can scratch given the right circumtances.

Using Glass as a flooring material is a bad idea...glas does not support very much weight and WILL scratch too.
