Have you ever had one break, or do they hold up pretty well. Did you keep them on the directional mount things?
These are what Carl had under the X. http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jhtml?CATID=4811&BQ=jcw2

Two more questions...
How bright and noticeable are they?
and
Should I wait until the new site is done to order them?

You'd get pulled over for any strobes. All colors and placement of any strobes is illegal I believe. I'd save it for parking lots.

I'm now running green and purple headlight strobes. They just blink @ two different rates which has a pretty kewl effect. I figured who other than funerals uses those colors. I use Dunkin Donuts as a testing ground for my lights. I leave em on in the lot and let the cops drive by. So far, none of them ever stopped to complain. Not even for the red led scanner in my grille. I figured that would be a definite no-no.

Its not illegal as long as the vehicle is parked. Any color is legal. NO color is legal while your driving. Yellow and white is for emergency and city workers (depending on state) and red and blue are for police/ambulances. You can have anything light up any color/flash rate as long as the vehicle is parked. Cars cannot have any sort of strobes while on the go. Only thing that can flash is turn signals and they cannot strobe.

U sure about that? Because all the plow guys have Hide-A-Strobes in their tail lights (red strobe flash) and in their turn signals (amber strobe flash.) All the landscape guys around here have strobes (amber) and they all drive with em on.

But they have a reason to use them and the reason is for caution. It's to let people know they are coming or to let people know they have a wide load or something.

...yea yea...i think it's cool to drive with em on...and i have a truck...so caution is a semi-legit reason...i think if i get pulled over i'll be real nice and tell the officer i was just being cautious icon_twisted.gif

i got strobe ropes in my wheel wells, from walmart, its a nice effect, although sometimes i wish i just would've gone with somethin thats on all the time...cause it looks better and cops don't care as much

they were like $13/each and have 3 strobes on each rope

tough to find though

Those are service vehicles. They are allowed to have strobes.
