Looks a lot better than the crappy one I bought from Wally World. Cheaper too.

Sure, Phil. I probably wont have it until March though, I'm moving into a new apartment soon, and so am cutting out unneccessary purchases for awhile, just to be safe. I'm not sure what kind of appliances I'm going to have to buy yet, might have to spring for the whole lot: Microwave, Stove, Fridge, etc. Then there's furniture and I know I'm going to have to get a bed/matress, so, yah, I'm saving my money just in case. But I will let you know as soon as I buy the remote.

Cool, saving money is good icon_biggrin.gif

I bet it is around 100 feet, nothing too extreme.

I really want some sort of remote that will work miles away and give me feedback. It would be perfect if it could control unlimited functions of the car and be able to send data like tank pressure or temperature, engine status, etc.

i dont think the fcc would allow it without the appropriate license, as well as the technical difficulty. give your car a satellite internet connection? or wifi and park it in a hotspot?

just make it work off the cellphone networks. have it text your phone of statuses of everything, and then send texts back to it to get osmething to turn on/off.

sounds like the best idea to me, but you'd have to have an extra cell phone line dedicated to the car, which would be like $20/month. kind of expensive just to know the engine status. plus the cellphone in the car would have to be something like a blackberry or windows mobile phone ($200 minimum), so that it could be programmed to respond to txt messages and read data from the car.
