golf carts - legal on sidewalks?

this is probably an unusual question but, does anyone know where (besides golf courses) you can drive golfcarts in florida? ex: sidewalks, dirt roads, etc? because i got pulled onver TWICE in my golfcart for driving it on my sidewalk in front of my house at night. i have a blue cathode underbody i made and wheel well kit i made but i dont think that thats y they stopped me (it is after all just a golfcart). i never got a ticket though just a warning.

the lights will get you ticketed...and it depends how picky the cop is, but driving on the sidewalk and stuff will get you ticketed as well

oh ok. i didn't think that they were so picky that they would ticket you for lights on a golf cart.

gas powered vehicles are not allowed on sidewalks.
i just wish the cops would enforce that law around here and get rid of all the idiots who swereve into the road riding lil gas scooters.

my golf cart is electric. and ya i hate those scooters they are so loud and annoying. trust me there are tons of em where i live.

electric shold be ok but you must have some wide sidewalks if a golf cart fits on em.
you can prob drive it down the road if youhave one of those orange triangles for slow vehicles.

ya my sidewalks are pretty small but i fit. the thing goes about 20-25 so its not the slowest glofcart

if you drive a vehicle on the road that cant go over 25 you have to have a reflective triangle on the back. atleast thats how it is here.
its generally not a good idea to ride anything on the sidewalk unless your handicapped and driving an electric wheelchair.
when i was younger cops would yell at me for riding my bike on the sidewalk.

I got that too.....then I moved to the road and got a ticket for impeding traffic.....when there was one car behind me........we were at a light......go figure.....

same thing happened to me the first time i got stopped except i was at a sstop sign.

call your local police... or just wait to get stopped again and ask the cop.
