ok so my subs were blown, but the place still never got the replacements so today i went to the shop and hada pay 100 bucks but i got 2 new subs.

Kaption spl 104d
dual 4 ohm voice coil
500 rms/1000 max

anyone heard these subs?? can they get loud? also how do i wire it to 1 ohm?

later this summer i'm going to make a ported box can sumone help me with dimentions as well?

i'll get pics later today.

Do you have a 1 ohm stable amp...otherwise don't wire em for 1 ohm.

take all of the +'s, wire those together... take all of the -'s wire those together... put them in the amp... presto!

And Kaption is a brand I've heard of but I have never heard. There is a guy named Kirk Losier that has a Talon... he uses Kaption... his car is piiiiiiiiiimp. They look quality, hopefully they are.

ok now you have me thinking. i think i might have my sub wired to 8 ohm not 2, i need to open that up when i get it back now. i kind of hope it is that way it will be louder but i can't remember icon_confused.gif

i used to have kaption in my car, i know the kaption representative for Canada (these speaker are made in Canada).

as far as something to compare them to..... well i guess they are almost like Pyle's, if Pyle is even around anymore, haven't seen them up here in Canada, don't know if its still available down in the States though.

the kaptions are decent subs, but if you have a powerful amp, they can be blown quite easy, so be careful.
they pound hard and aren't very expensive.

so i have to run 2 + and 2 - to each sub one for each of the voic coils and it will b 1 ohm. thx a lot.

k update there in there loud but the box aint sealed anymore, there screw holes and other things in it so i need a new box. i want to make this one ported. but i dont know what size or shape to make it or the port so can sumone help me out. i want it to be as loud as possible so can sumone give me a size or atleast a site to help me find a good size for box for them.
