Is there any word on the shipment that was supposed to have gone out about 3-4 weeks ago from ICELED????

More from ICELED:

Quote:
I've been told that the shipment will be going out early next week. For the last week or so the ICELED folks (and me!) have been very busy making preparations for a big car show (the MPH show) taking place on Thursday. I'll be putting up some more details about this in a moment.

Am I the only one who is, shall we say, less than thrilled, that we aren't getting our stuff from ICELED because of a car show?????

Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware there's not really an alternative at the moment with comparable capabilities and expandibility...so it isn't even like they are losing their business to a competitor as much as they could be to help spur them on to make sure their customers are happy.

It's still there to a degree, I'm sure, but not as much as if they had 5 other companies they were competing directly with.

i'm willing to bet if iceled had some competetion this wouldn't have happened. they know there is nowhere else to get the products so they really dont seem to care at all that its taking them forever to ship them.

I know that methodology in business is the reason I'm never going to order any ICELED products. I can not purchase anything from a company that will ignore their dealers, and their customer base. Honestly there's no room in business for companies like this. You guys hit the nail on the head when you said that this wouldn't have happened if they had some competition on their level of the industry.

^ My point exactly. Without anyone to lose their business to that can offer similar products and capabilities, they can set their price at whatever the market will sustain, and can afford to **** off customers because they have no where to go if they want a product like they offer...

Pretty sure they wouldn't use the name "UFO". They would probably choose a word in the fire category. "Inferno", "Blaze". See a pattern? If they could rename "Cathode" I bet they would.

Nothing against the Flowlighting brands, I love em!

It would take a lot of work for Flowlighting to come out with a good alternative to the ICELED stuff. The problem is you can't get the ICELED quality out of China. Simply put, Flowlighting spends to much time buying cheap crap from China. Sorry Phil, but China will not be able to produce the quality of ICELED at a reasonable price. Oznium is in it for the money, and there isn't a huge margin of profit in making quality stuff such as ICELED. The main reason ICELED is so expensive is because they spend most of their money on buying high quality components including the LEDs. They get "bin selection" so the colors match from LED to LED. Yall have no idea how much quality control is put into the ICELED line. Yes, there customer care is horrible and needs major improvement, and there is no excuse for that. If you still want Flowlighting to make something to compete with ICELED then you can still suggest it at your own will, but remember that the quality that ICELED has is not going to be cheap, and China won't help much either.

I am certain China can produce a super-quality product, but it will be a ton of work, and might not be worth it.

Look at what sells - walmart, target, best buy - people demand cheap stuff, even if it is not the best quality.

And the quality of Iceled has certainly not had a perfect record. As a percentage, I've had more trouble with Iceled defects than FlowLighting.

Cold solder joints in tubes, bad ECU's, bad remotes, bad displays, bad Zen's, bad Scanners, bad Gem's, bad Floods. In a shipment of 8 UFO kits, 6 of the ECU's were defective. They were missing a critical power relay. Had a bad tube on my car, aken has 2 bad tubes on his car, and Mav had bad tubes twice... plus many other people :?

Yes I'm in it for the money, but I do this business because I love cars, lighting, and electronics. Some of my customers can afford to spend 800 bucks on the UFO kit. For the rest of us, I think I do a pretty good job of making good products for an affordable price. If thats your definition of cheap and only in it for the money, than so be it.

I'm not questioning your methods Phil, because it does work. I am more or less questioning the ideas that customers have in their heads. They want the best for cheap. Well, the Inferno is darn close, but not quite there.

The Inferno is also only a couple months old, whereas the ICELED UFO has been out for at least 2 years that I've known about it. No product in this world is free of defects or bugs. We, just have to learn to live with them, or learn that the manufactuer is willing to work with us. ICELED also has more products than Flowlighting so they have the ability to look like they have more defects. Anyways, people be patient with ICELED. They're manufactuering as fast as the factory can let them.

I'm pretty damn impressed with the Inferno. I never even got the kit onto my car. I had set it up in my basement and played with it for a bit but not long enough to really see what it can do. Now I don't exactly know all the differences between the UFO and the Inferno, other than the fact that the Inferno remote is 10x cooler and better looking, goes the same for the creator icon_wink.gif . The Inferno is a great product. If people want to step up, then get a UFO. Even if Phil did have his very own "UFO" It would probably be $500 so it's not like we're going to get a ICELED quality product at half the price (and after reading how many ECU problems maybe the term "ICELED Quality" doesn't mean much). This isn't directed toward Alien, or to Phil but just a general rant.

I'm not really concerned with whether or not they are manufacturing. I'm sure they are.
What bothers me is they evidently aren't shipping what they are making. Even though they have said they shipped Phil's orders.

We're still waiting and ICELED is still avoiding.....apparently.

There is only one person to beat up, and that’s exactly why getting contact with ICELED is not the easiest thing to do.
