for the HID headlights, whats the highest color thats legal, like are the 8000k legal or with having the lil blue in em make em illegal?
Basically just wondering whats the highest i can go and still be fine If you wanted to get more technical as far as laws go i live in NY |

I got pulled over for my 10000Ks, i dunno about the others, but I have never had any problems with the 8000Ks

technically if the vehicle did not come stock with hid;s then they are illegal.
thats why they say for off road and show use only |

off road use only....only applications that are legal are ones that use Projector Style Headlight housings....all reflector style housings are illegal no matter what temp bulbs you get...
I have 6000K in my car though and have never had an issue....had a buddy with 8K and got a ticket for them....they are more noticeable and most cops know they are illegal, just dont want to hastle people unless they really get blinded... |

there are a handful of cars out there that have reflector housings designed for HID. But in that case you already have HID so you dont need it. |

^ The previous generation of STi's had reflector housings for HID's.

if they come factory with HID and reflector housings then they are legal....Im speakin in terms of aftermarket applications...I dont know of any cars that have Projector housings stock but use halogen bulbs
