Nothing but good reviews, and it operates on AAA batteries. I just ordered mine, will write a review once I get it

I got a green laser off ebay for 25. It's not powerfully enough to pop balloons but you can still see the beam in the night time. it's shweet.

Awaiting your review and if it's good I'll be sure to pick one up. I bought several things from there the other day, all items were under $1.50. Free shipping too!

I have the same questions as the people that commented that video have:

Exactly what laser did you do that to, and where can it be purchased?

Does the mod shorten the lifespan of the laser?

Will it light the match at bigger distances, or only up close?

How long do the batteries last after that mod?

On Friday I ordered a 5mw green laser to modify, along with a bunch of other stuff including a Brons red laser gun kit to put on my Smith! Excited about that one.

Anyway, get yours yet p0rk? I upgraded to EMS shipping, should have my whole order in seven days, they say.

They ship direct from HONG KONG, and mine just left there a few days ago so I think I should be getting it near the end of next week.

why green instead of red? i seen a lot of the better laser sights are going to green instead of the standard red lately.

Green is brighter, you can see the beam itself at night (the reason stargazers use them).

well to be honest the real market for green gun lasers in the military
they are mounting them on their m16's but as far as I know they aren't using them for aiming (green lasers are a bad idea they identify your position to the enemy)

they are however using them to direct air support because the pilots can see them and see where to hit

I had a pretty big order and it's all coming from Hong Kong. So I would guess everything does. It also looks like they put an order out, collect the product from suppliers, THEN ship it. So on top of shipping from Hong Kong you have a 2-3 day wait for them to actually get the product.

Right now my order is in the Bao'an District. w00t for Shenzhen!

I sign up for email updates with all of my USPS packages.

Got an update today, My package cleared customs. Hopefully that means they didn't gank my laser.

After my order had already shipped I realized EMS shipping wasn't the greatest idea, from reading around on a few laser forums I found that 80% or more of lasers being imported are seized when using EMS. Maybe the fact that I used my business address helped me get through, it was only in customs for one night as you can see.

Damn, my package hit Columbus an hour ago. I should have it today. icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif I think I'm more excited to get the Brons Red Laser kit for my Smith&Wesson than the green laser ha!

Edit: Received everything. The china men wrote "LED Flashlight" as the contents of the package, must be one way to ease the customs process. I didn't even have an LED flashlight in my order. After I play with the green laser for a few days I'm gonna crack it open and turn up the pot.

I got bored and decided to try the pot modification at work.

This is a NewWish laser module and according to candlepowerforums some versions are pot mod able some are not. It just so happens mine is not.

The new versions have pressed on caps, no getting them off. Members of candlepower had to cut there's off. They found that on the lasers that had potentiometers, the pot was directly in front of the power button. So the easiest and cleanest way to turn up your pot was to drill a hole in the casing right above it.

So after researching some more, I drilled into my case...NO POT! biglaugh.gif So I was contemplating cutting the tip of the case off to get a good peek at the board, but instead I carefully remove the back end where the batteries meet the board.

No visible pot anywhere on the board.

I decided to leave it alone and use it as <5mW. Although people on the boards have metered the pointers and say that is an underrating. It is blinding, and you can just barely see the beam in a well fluorescent lit room which says a LOT for <5mW. Can't wait to see it at night.

So just a heads up to everyone getting NewWish laser from DX. biglaugh.gif

Sorry to bump an old thread.

What's the deal with that $20 green laser? Any complaints? I've been thinking of picking one up and totally forgot about it until now.

Also, does anyone know if I can light a cigarette with a 5 mW laser? I don't smoke, but I have friends that do and it would be wild to whip that out and light it for them.

I like the laser, lots of fun and great distance. One problem is that if you leave the batteries in the unit, they will be dead in a few days. You really need to remove the batteries after each use. I will sell mine if you don't want to wait 2 weeks for them to ship one to you. I used it twice and left the batteries in it, now they are dead and the excitement of a green laser has worn off. Hah.

You can see the beam on mine when it is dark. I had tons of fun with this on the Outer Banks.

We stood on our back deck and shot the beam over the beach and ocean. You could see it for miles, and since you could see the beam everyone knew exactly where it was coming from icon_redface.gif biglaugh.gif biglaugh.gif
