I've got a pair of 10" neon subrings if you'd like them. They have a music controller on them that you can switch to off, bass, or allways on. They're walmart brand, but they've been under my seat and taken a lot of abuse. If you like, I'd sell them to you for 15$ shipped.

Let me know what you would think.

You clearly know very little about car audio. Therefore I will not blame you for your comments.

If you would like to learn more, please feel free to ask, and avoid rude commentary.

listen... i design speakers and enclosures. do custom installs in stadiums, auditoriums, and night clubs. you know how many use bandpass as you see it in car audio? and when our shop does custom made boxes, you know how many use bandpass? none. You ever see bandpass in SQ or SPL comps? No.

Ported boxes are for SPL only, becuase they only resonate efficiently at one frequency, and sealed boxes have a flat responce, and are perfect for SQ. Speakers in a ported box tend to blow easier. bandpass has one purpose, and that is to make a cheap speaker sound decent. it has the acoustic suspension advantage of a sealed box, with the porting spl of a ported box. despite people's ideals, the magnet shoud be located in the free air side of the bandpass box.

So to say they're good is vauge statement. They're good for 300-700 watt max speakers. anything else won't give it the area to efficiently operate because of the air displacement of the box, and xmax of the speaker.

Well said.

Im rebuilding a box for my 3 Type Rs and I decided to go sealed for SQ.

P.S. - I have an SUV. Ported if you want loud, sealed if you want clean, Bandpass if you want crap. I think that has been established all over this board.

the only thing I disagree w/ it ported is only for spl. SQ is using ported more and more now. Playing around w/ designs you can get a fairly flat response with ported and still have a slight peak where needed for the SPL portion. Gerernalizing, sealed tends to be easier to gear towards SQ and ported towards SPL, but both can be used effectively for daily driving and sound great.

Bandpass on the other hand is not as **** as everyone says. Although 98% of the prefab ones will be. Some ppl have had GREAT results using bandpass for SPL only. But it takes a lot of knowledge of the speaker, the cabin and many other things that are over my (and most ppl's) head. The problem w/ prefab bandpass boxes is they are rarely geared for your car or even your speakers! Especially when you buy empty bandpass boxes!

And don't take this the wrong way blazer. We're just trying to keep you from making a hasty (and maybe uneducated) decision.

nothing wrong w/ Massive Audio at all. If you can get good deals on them try to get their top line... they are fairly good. Their amps are good too.

JL has fine subs, if you wanna do internet shopping check on:
ddaudio.com, edesignaudio.com, respl.com, or audioque.com

most of which can be had for much less than their website lists (just call and ask). PLUS these companies offer much better tech support and will tell you what you want rather then what they want you to have.

They're blue. They come with that music box thing as well that you plug it into. Then you can choose b/w the beat, sold on, or off. Or you could cut the ends and run them however you feel like!

that would be sweet if i could somehow hook those 15 inch neon rings to my wheels since i have 15 inch wheels, and not have them explode all over the place when im goin down the highway. it would look badass, just like a car on rails or somehting
