I'm looking for a new car. Here's what I've been looking at so far, but I'm open to suggestions.
Dodge Challenger

Dodge Avenger
Mazda 6 (Touring)
Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback
I'm REALLY diggin the sportback. I actually had paperwork and financing done and waiting for me to sign on one but I backed out.
Your thoughts? Any other suggestions in this price range (<$26k)?

Don't buy the Challenger. Out of all the muscle cars out there it's the most expensive and the biggest pig.

Are you looking for a DD? Any muscle car is really going to suck in the snow. I personally would choose the Mazda 6.

I'd go with the Sportback or 6. I see a ton of the new 6's around and lots of women driving them (smiling bumper, yay!) which would sway my decision towards the Sportback.

Personally, I love the aggresive Mitsu front ends.

Yeah, it'd be a DD but my daily drive is like 3-5 minutes depending on traffic...I sometimes just walk to work because it's so close. There'd still be the need to drive in snow sometimes, though.

The two I'm most interested in are the sportback and 6. I'm going to look at another 6 here in a few hours.

Honestly, drive both and choose the one that you like better. Looks are only part of buying a car. See which interior you like better and which on rides better.

Honestly, looks are very important to me when choosing a car. Everything on the car could be awesome, but if I don't like the looks then I'm not buying it. I've also had a friend that bought a car online based on looks alone. Never test drove it (or car of same model) or anything.

We did that with my wife's Cx7...she just really loved the looks, we researched the car online and then went to the dealership and said give us one in this color. The salesman was like "you really don't want to test drive it?" biglaugh.gif

I'm pretty much all about looks I guess...I wouldn't drive a car if I thought it was ugly.

Kevin you switched the picture of the 6 to touring! No more smiley bumper icon_sad.gif
Between the Touring and Sportback, I'd still choose Sportback based on looks.

I saw that, but when I followed the link directly, it showed the smiley car. So I figured touring's were just as happy as the others. biglaugh.gif biglaugh.gif

sportback is quite ugly. unless you get a ralliart and are turbo'd. Get a Lancer GTS it has the same power as the sportback GTS does but im pretty sure the sedan is less weight. Or look into the mazda more. I have a 09 Lancer and have no complaints about it.

I actually like the Sportback over the Sedan

You should totally look into a MKV GTI or R32

The R32 has AWD, a 3.2 liter V6 with 255 hp, and come stock with leather, sunroof, heated seats, and xenons

I saw four Touring 6's today on my way home from work...they are pretty sharp. One was black, and clean as a whistle...yum.

It's a tough decision for me now, the ass end of Sportback reminded me of a Taurus Wagon the first time I saw it, but it started to grow on me, and I've never seen a Sportback on the road...which would make me want one. biglaugh.gif

The legacy is priced very nicely; however, it looks so damn boring (in my opinion). No doubt it's a nice car, it just looks boring.

The Challenger is a no in my book. The Avenger is a hunk of crap. The Mazda is nice. The Evo is nice as well but I don't dig the back end.

I personally really like the look of the new Chevy Cruze actually.
