I found an old Laser Light show that is powered by 4 1.5v batteries or a 6v D.C. I really want to hard wire it into my car power source. How can I modify it from being powered by battery to a car's accessory power.

I was disappointed when I found out you can't just take the positive wire off the battery terminal and wire it to the source and ground the negative. icon_redface.gif

Basically, How can I power something that plugs into the wall or run on batteries, from my car accessory source?

OK it runs on 6 volts , car battery = 12 volts so NO you can't just plug it into the battery and expect it to work .... You can get a 6 volt regulator and build a circuit or buy a universal adapter from radio scrap and use it to adapt ...

if ir plugs into 120AC you can get an AC invertor that converts 12v DC to 120v ac then you can plug the ac plug into it

I figured it out, I have all my wires tested and I got it to work. I'll post a video or something tomorrow if you're interested. Thanks for what you helped me with.
