Ok so here is a list of mods that have been done since i originally posted the Optima around a month ago

-20% tint all the way around
-LED's in all 4 dome lights, glove box, trunk light and license plate lights
-Hardwired my cobra radar detector
-Installed a black license plate frame and tinted cover
-Installed a Nameless Performance charge pipe w/ Synapse BOV
-Installed a Nameless Performance Intake pipe w/ K&N drop in filter
-Installed 6 cool white LED strips that turn on when headlights come on(4 up front 2 in rear)

I believe that is all but here are some pics of the small performance mods.

Looks pretty snazzy dude. I drove one of those at the Portland Auto show not too long ago. Didn't really get to give it all it had, but pretty nice ride.

Nice! icon_cool.gif

From your mod list I think the only thing I would recommend doing would be loosing that Cobra brand radar detector and upgrading to a higher end brand. In the radar detector world Cobras are usually know as junk.<<No offense if you're happy with it's performance and if it works for you, just after being spoiled with some higher end detectors, I wouldn't trust them. icon_wink.gif

No I am completely unhappy with it and I myself consider it junk. Nothing but false alarms! What would you recommend?

Sorry to hear that, but from what I've read and even being a past Cobra owner I'm not that surprised.

As for recommendations, you can't really go wrong picking radar detectors from brands such as Beltronics/ESCORT, Valentine 1 and believe it or not Whistler also makes quite a nice performing radar detector. Well not all of the Whistler units.

What would be your radar detector budget?

I would say like $250-300 seeing as how that's what the POS cobra has the only thing I like is the red light camera notification.

Gotcha, If you happen to be interested I have a great performing Beltronics Pro Series RX65 that I might be willing to sell maybe sometime next month, or so. Not sure of my price though, but I can assure you it will be a good deal. It doesn't have red light notification, but if you want a nice back up red light notification unit, check out the Cheetah C50.

Here.

^^A Cheetah in combination with a great performing radar detector would be an excellent combo. That is if you don't mind two units instead of a radar detector with buit in red light detection.

You're welcome and I'll definitely let you know.

Oh and I'm not sure if you've seen this cool radar detector interface unit they make.
Check it out.

^^Very cool. Damn! I think I might have to purchase a Cheetah too. icon_smile.gif
